I recently bought the book Blogging for Bliss and there was a section on "framing your photos." I have been wanting to play around with PhotoShop for a long time now. Here is my first attempt at framing a photo in PhotoShop.
We just finished our mudroom. I was really pleased with how it turned out. I used old doorknobs for the hooks and an old shutter for the broom closet door. You can also see where my "happy house" ended up. I can't believe that it is time to put our backpacks to use again next week. Yikes, where did the summer go?
I have now spent way too much time trying to figure this out, but I did it! I hope you enjoy some of our family pictures from the cherry farm in Michigan.
I recently saw something on another blog that gave me this idea. I have had these large house cut-outs for quite awhile and was waiting for an idea to come my way. My oldest son and I had a great time coming up with these. I initially had "too many" and was told to "keep it to ten like the ten commandments!" I am still planning on using my new favorite product "Pour-on" to finish this off.
I highly recommend this book. I have really been enjoying it this summer. It is a daily devotional book for mothers (obviously). Every day I wonder if this author has been in my house. She nails it! She makes me laugh, think and look to God for strength! I bought mine on amazon.com.
Remember the table I found at the garage sale? Well, now it has a new home and a new look. I brought it home from Feastivities when we moved, and I just painted the prayer on it this summer. After I painted the prayer I used Pour-On. I love that stuff. I can't wait to use it on something else. This is the prayer my husband grew up saying before meals.
Come Lord Jesus, be our guest, May this food by thee be blest, May our souls by thee be fed, Ever on the Living Bread
I just found some old pieces of trim last month when I was cleaning, so I got out my jigsaw and went to work. I have had these frames for awhile and was waiting for some inspiration. The trim was just the inspiration I needed although not quite long enough to go around the frame. No problem, that is where the flower came in. The flower was just what I need to cover up the corner where the trim ran out. I embellished them with buttons and crystals and used more trim scraps for the stem. Who knows what I will find the next time I clean!?!
